The Righteousness of God

What a year 2020 has been! Whew! We have faced so much this year and have been given numerous tests. I love how this year was simplified in a blog I listen to. You can not have a testimony without a test. If each of us pressed into 2020, then our testimonies will be more apparent than ever.

I was sitting in my living room after all of the Christmas hustle and bustle, just resting at my husband’s feet as he was cuddled up on the couch. I took the stillness as an opportunity to read my Everyday Faith magazine finally. First, let me say if you do not pick up these magazines, you should! They are so much fun to read when your day has given you a few minutes of downtime. Yes, ladies, even if it is in the car. They are a fun way to draw closer to the Lord. I ran across the My Faith Book by: Shanna Noel section and felt inspired to scribble my thoughts down! Those thoughts took me to the book of Psalms.

The beautiful poetry in the book of Psalms reminds us to meditate on the Lord day and night.

The book of Psalms is considered to be a book of songs, translated in the Greek language as Psalmoi, meaning “Poems Sung to the Accompaniment of Musical Instruments. Also, translated as Psalterium. “A Collection of Songs.” Most of us know this, but something else stood out to me in my quiet time sitting at my husband’s feet. The first book of Psalms contrasts the Righteous from the wicked. After a year like 2020, I am definitely seeking to stand out from the wicked. I know a warning when I see it, LOL!

I challenge you to read the first book of Psalms and see how it hits home with you. It is only six verses long but, WOW. So, going back to our verse:

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

Psalm 1:2

How do we meditate on Him day and night? What does that look like for us as women today? Let us start by creating room for Him in the spaces where we usually spend time frustrated, frozen, or simply bored. Stop. Settle down, sister. Pick up something that reflects His word and focus on it. Because I loved these pages so much, I have made them available for you to download.

Let us be sisters who focus on being the Righteousness of God in 2021. Let us have FUN while we are doing it! Comment below on how the Lord spoke to you in Psalms 1. We grow when we share.
